Here Are Some Quick Instructions For Starting To Film Your
Own Presentation In iMovie

Capturing your story
  1. Open iMovie
  2. Click on the camera icon in the middle left of the screen
  3. The camera capture screen will appear
  4. Adjust the camera so that you are in the center of the screen
  5. Click on the Capture button (lower, right corner)
  6. Name your event (whatever you’d like) in the “Create Event” box
  7. When the clock in the bottom of the screen begins to count, begin your presentation
  8. When you are done with your presentation, click Stop
  9. Click Done

Editing your movie
We can now begin creating your movie
  1. Run the cursor over the new clip that is in the event library (in the center, bottom of the screen)
  2. Select the clip by clicking on the little gear that appears in the lower left corner
  3. Click again to clear the clip adjustments
  4. Now click and drag the clip onto the timeline (the upper, left part of the screen)
  5. The clip is now the first part of your movie. You can edit, alter and add titles to your movie.

Trimming your movie,
If you are like most people, the beginning and end of your movie isn't so nice. Here is how to delete those parts of the movie at the beginning and end that you don't want.
  1. On the clip in the timeline, click on the gear that appears when you put the cursor over the clip
  2. Highlight "clip trimmer"
  3. In the clip trimmer, click and drag the handles at the beginning and end of the clip.
  4. Place the cursor at the beginning of the clip. Hit the space bar to play the clip
  5. Use the yellow handles to adjust the beginning and end of the clip to the appropriate start and end.
  6. Hit the done button (in the center of the screen)

Adding titles
You can now add a title to your movie
  1. Click on the title button that is in the row of buttons on the right in the center -- it's the button with the T on it.
  2. Select the "Centered" title
  3. Click and drag the title box to before your clip in the timeline (a green line appears before the clip)
  4. Select the background for your title
  5. Click into the title screen (on the top right portion of the screen)
  6. Delete the text that is there and type in your title
  7. Click on the done button in the top, right corner of the screen
  8. On the timeline, click on the title background
  9. Click on the little gear that appears
  10. Click on the "clip adjustments"
  11. In the "Duration" box, change the time to 8.0s
  12. Click done.

Your movie is now ready to show!
